Walking in the Harvest DBA House of Hope is a nonprofit organization located in Concord, North Carolina. Our mission is to provide support and serve as a beacon of hope to local families in need. Since its inception in 1994, House of Hope has extended a helping hand to countless individuals and families in Cabarrus County – people of all ages and walks of life.

Our Programs

Operation Breadbasket

Operation Breadbasket is an emergency food assistance program that distributes free groceries twice a week to residents of Cabarrus County.  Partnering with Second Harvest Food Bank and local growers, Operation Breadbasket is able to offer families fresh produce, baked goods, meats, and non-perishable items.

Health Services

The Health Services program promotes better health through education, access to healthcare, and encouragement toward wellness and wholeness.  Services are free and open to the community and include periodic health screening and testing, health & wellness workshops, exercise classes, and assistance obtaining medication or medical equipment.

E.G.G.S. (Emerging Grateful global scholars)

E.G.G.S. (Emerging Grateful Global Scholars) is a 6-week Summer enrichment camp for children and youth in 1st - 9th grades.  In addition to fun physical activity and exciting field trips, campers attend classes that include Spanish, spiritual development, math, science, creative writing, music, dance, financial development, arts & crafts, health & wellness, and leadership.

Summer Food service program

The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), was established to ensure that children continue to receive nutritious meals when school is not in session. When school is out, SFSP provides free meals to kids and teens, 18 and under.  SFSP is a federally-funded, state-administered program.
